Description

North Ridgeville started as a small settlement in 1810 with a few settlers from Connecticut. They had to face a land that was heavily wooded, had a lot of low boggy areas as well as wild animals and cold weather. They prospered through the years to build a community that had schools, churches, and a government. In later years they needed to fight to get city amenities like water and road construction and maintenance. They fought off a bid of annexation. They created the fire and police departments.

This book is 200 pages that takes you through the history of North Ridgeville from 1810 through 1960 with pictures of some of the people and historical places.

Author:  William Noll is a life long resident of North Ridgeville.  Having being born in the city he has a very strong interest in the history of the city and its development. He has served in the city government as a councilman and has been active in city organizations, the Corn Fest, and the Historical Society.
