We are pleased to announce a grand rededication of the Military Monuments will be held Sunday, May 28th at 1:00 on the front lawn of the Old Town Hall.  In storage for eight years for protection from the Center Ridge Road widening project, these monuments have recently been reinstalled by the city in their rightful place of honor.  The ceremony will include participation by the North Ridgeville VFW Post #9871 Honor Guard and will honor all veterans – especially those fallen soldiers memorialized on the monuments-many of whose families will be in attendance. In addition, the Historical Society will reveal the addition of the name of Pvt. Howard Petersen, U.S. Army, who was killed in action December 23, 1944 in France.  His family will be in attendance and will be the honored Gold Star family in the Memorial Day parade the following day.  Displays of military memorabilia are being planned and the Historical Society will showcase Military notebooks containing the stories of many of North Ridgeville’s veterans.

This event will be held rain or shine, visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and refreshments will be provided.
